Welcome back to our series covering (tumbleweed blows across the screen) all the elements that make the Komodo Cover special. We previously discussed the material side of things, going into detail about the airframe and fabrics.
And this time, we’re going to take a look at our patented Kommander console and its corresponding app. Let’s get straight into it!
A Commanding Kommander
The Kommander is the heart of the Komodo cover system. It is responsible for inflating the airframe, while monitoring and maintaining the conditions within the boat—humidity, heat, frame pressure, and battery voltage.
The 60-watt dehumidifier works by pulling water out from under the boat cover and depositing it in either the bilge or out the back of the boat. This means you can sit back and relax without having to worry about humidity affecting the state of the boat’s valuable electronics and upholstery. The Kommander is ably supported by a case producing a comfortable level of heat to further maintain a controlled environment under the cover.
The final coup de grâce with the Kommander console is its connectivity. The system can be controlled via Wifi, so you don’t need an additional subscription service or other complications. Furthermore, if Wifi is not an option for you in your particular mooring location, the Kommander is 4G-enabled, and an LCD touchscreen will enable complete manual control if you don’t want to bother with a phone. This means whatever selection you choose, you will be able to connect your boat to the Kommander network. All you need to do is download the Kommander app…
An All-Encompassing App
The Kommander has a corresponding app, allowing seamless cover control, thanks to the Wifi and 4G connectivity. After your Kommader is successfully linked to the internet, your boat will always be visible to you in real time. From the app, you can change the settings for your climate control, and you will be alerted immediately if conditions drastically change or you become out of range.
If you are lucky enough to own multiple boats or be in a club with friends, then we have good news for you—various boats may be simply added to your account, allowing you to view and manage them all from one page. Our help section can be easily found on the homepage; if you have any questions, you can contact us. Without any complicated jargon or extensive forms to fill in, we will get you the help you need. Another cool feature of the app is that you can upload your favorite photos, spreading the Komodo joy in the process.
